AVIC’s Advanced Aircraft Noise Technology Center aims to establish a world-class aviation acoustic technology research center.

Located at the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST), the center has three major research directions. The first is low-noise technology, namely the use of advances in noise assessment, materials and simulation technology to improve aircraft noise performance through acoustic design of whole aircraft, systems and spare parts.

The second is low-noise operation, i.e. making aircraft fly with less noise by taking measures in a safe and effective transport management mode. The last is low-noise perception, which is understanding perceived factors of noise annoyance levels to apply low—noise technology and fly in a more effective manner.
